Our Week in the Forest
September continues to surprise us with wonderful warmth or wind!
Our new children are feeling more settled and exploring more areas of the forest too now!
This week we have been learning about different ways to move. This has been explored by experimenting with both gross and fine motor skills.
The children are beginning to choose how they like to style their mud kitchen such as where pots are stored and what to make.
Our craft table has been all about threading beads! The children were so engaged whilst doing this and it was very popular. They all were determined to complete their necklace with as many beads as possible!
Our Little Forest Folk-ers have also been designing their own mini obstacle course by building on ways to balance materials on top of each other. Endless mark making opportunities were available to where children have had the time to freely draw anything they wish. Such a blissful experience out in the forest too!
The obstacle course inspired the children to independently change things up and make their own course! There was a lot of balancing going on and manoeuvring of crates. They also continued to investigate all the things they can do with tyres as well.
To support our younger children’s sensory development we have explored a variety of textures and materials and as well as this, there has been a big focus on musical instruments this week and moving around with them whilst singing songs! The children also decided to use them as telescopes!
Thanks for coming to the forest, we hope you all have wonderful weekends!
